SONSAF in collaboration with SNDF and under the DANGUUD Consortium held a panel discussion on the violence and abuses suffered by disabled children. This event was attended by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs & Family, Human Rights Commission, CSOs and disabled rights activists.
The aim of today’s discussion is to put focus on the types of abuses children with special needs suffer in our communities. As a society, in particular government departments and CSOs, need to aim to ensure disabled children’s rights are upheld. Policies will need to be developed to address their needs and to tackle the abuses they suffer.
